Little Fires Everywhere Season 2 – Release Date, Cast, Plot, and All We Know So Far

Garnering a 7.7 out of 10 rating on IMDB, Little Fires Everywhere is a pretty great American drama series that you can stream on Hulu. If you are entirely new to this web series, the show is based on Celeste Ng’s bestselling novel under the same name.

Featuring the “picture-perfect” Richardson family, Little Fires Everywhere isn’t your staple and regular drama series. With the strong mother-daughter duo and the constant twists along the way, the show manages to bring in a lot of news that the audience will never likely experience.

Featuring Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington, and Rosemarie DeWitt as the frontrunners, the show has managed to climb up the popularity ladder very quickly. The first season included 8 episodes and rumors suggest that the second season will also come out with 8 episodes.

Although there is no official confirmation about the show’s release date or an official cast list yet, reports suggest that each episode in Season 2 will likely be between 50-60 minutes long. Produced by the Best Day Ever productions, the first season garnered a lot of names and nominations too.

When is Little Fires Everywhere Season 2 releasing?

The Little Fires Everywhere Season 2 doesn’t have an official release date yet. However, there are confirmations that the show is currently in the works, and shooting has already started.

Although Hulu has confirmed that the show has been renewed for a second season, they haven’t said much about the possible release date yet.

However, given that the updates and rumors are consistently coming in, we’d recommend you keep an eye out on this space because we will update once an official confirmation comes in.

Who will return as a cast in Little Fires Everywhere Season 2?

Given that the first season ended in a very rounded and anti-climactic way, we can assume that all the cast from the first season will make a comeback in the second one as well.

However, whether or not there would be new additions to the already existing cast remains a mystery at this point. However, some of the confirmed cast in season 2 include:

  • Reese Witherspoon
  • Kerry Washington
  • Joshua Jackson
  • Rosemarie DeWitt
  • Jade Pettyjohn
  • Lexi Underwood
  • Megan Stott
  • Gavin Lewis
  • Jordan Elsass
  • SteVonte Hart
  • Paul Yen
  • Huang Lu
  • Geoff Stults
  • Jaime Ray Newman
  • Obba Babatunde
  • Melanie Nicholls-King
  • Anika Noni Rose
  • Britt Robertson
  • Aubrey Joseph
  • Byron Mann
  • AnnaSophia Robb
  • Tiffany Boone
  • Jesse Williams
  • Sarita Choudhury
  • Austin Basis
  • Andy Favreau
  • Luke Bracey
  • Alona Tal
  • Nicole Beharie
  • Matthew Barnes

Given that the cast list of the show is already so long, it isn’t even a surprise that there are chances that no new cast will likely be included any further than what’s already confirmed.

What is the Plot of Little Fires Everywhere Season 2?

The second season will more than likely be an extrapolation of the first season. So, if you haven’t watched the first season yet, we’d recommend that you do that first. Also, proceed with caution because the next few paragraphs will contain some spoilers from the first season.

The show starts in the year 1997 wherein the Richardson family house is set ablaze on fire and reports from the firefighters suggest that the fire was an intentional one and not an accident. Terrified that something is likely wrong, Elena starts getting more and more vigilant.

Four months after the fire breakout, Elena finds a strange car parked around the street of her house and she informs the police about it immediately. Following that, she gets a rental offer on the car from the owner.

On the flip side, Elena crosses paths with Mia Warren, who is an artist and lives in her car with her daughter, Pearl. Looking into their plight, Elena decides to rent out a part of her house to them. However, Elena calls the listed references on the rental after renting out the place.

After finding a place to stay, Mia gets on well with all the people in the neighborhood. Mia’s daughter, Pearl also makes friends with Elena’s son, Moody.

Elena, who lives a very structured life, often gets into rows and clashes with her daughter, Izzy who wants to play an instrument that Elena doesn’t approve of.

Frustrated with their mother, Lexi, Trip and Moody decide to burn the house down as a way to teach their mother a lesson. So, it was the right prediction on the firefighter’s part to suggest that the fire was planned and not an accident.

Devasted, Elena tries to cover up the issue knowing that her children are behind the arson and tries to take full blame for the issue. The show ends with Elena repenting never making her parents meet their granddaughter and then decides to reconcile.

We can suggest that Season 2 will likely pick up from where Season 1 ended. However, given that the first season had a very conclusive ending, we might see a new direction for the Richardson family in the second season as well. However, nothing is confirmed at this point.

Conclusion

Little Fires Everywhere has surpassed audience expectations since the first season, so it isn’t surprising that the viewers are avidly waiting for the second season. However, with the show currently under work, we aren’t 100% sure about the official release date yet. We’d have to wait for the official confirmation and release date.
