This comic book was written by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. This American drama showcases life in the months and years that are affected by a zombie apocalypse. The IMDB rating of this show is 8.2/10 which reveals how popular it is among the series buffs. It consists of 169 episodes and started its first telecast on 31st October 2010 tracked by season 1 to season 11.

The Walking Dead Season 1

Season 1 of the Walking Dead garnered much appreciation from the viewers as well as from the critics for its content and star cast. It consisted of 6 episodes as a whole. The first episode titled “Days Gone Bye” starts with Sheriff’s deputy, Rick Grimes getting up from a coma which was a result of a gunshot and getting to know that the world is being overrun with Walkers. He returns to his house in search of his family i.e. wife and son where he meets the only survivor, Morgan Jones, and the latter’s son, Dune. Later, Rick goes to Atlanta in search of his wife and son, ignorant of the fact that they are safe with other survivors led by his former partner. As a result, he is confronted with a horde of Walkers and also gets trapped in a tank. 

The next episode “Guts” reveals how Rick got rescued by a scavenger survivor, Asian Glenn, and later altogether they made plans to escape from that place. A redneck, Merle Dixon is then handcuffed to a pipe for attempting an attack on Rick. Later, Rick and Glenn rescue all Walkers except Merle. “Tell it to the frogs” is the third episode of the first season where Rick returns to Atlanta to protect a person’s life whereas on the other hand Lori and Shane are surprised to see someone whom they thought was dead. In “Vatos”, another batch of survivors blackmail Rick. Daryl, T-Dog, and Glenn send Rick’s mission to Atlanta awry. Later the latter return to camp very late to prevent a Walker horde from any attempt to attack or kill Andrea’s sister Amy as well as Ed (Carol’s spouse). 

Episode 5 i.e. “Wildlife” depicts how Rick takes the leadership of the CDC facility in Atlanta against the wishes of Shane after the survivors are dead. In the final episode of the season, Dr. Jenner welcomes the survivors and also lets them have access to all amenities of the building while giving details about the Walker. Later, survivors discovered that the building may get self-detonated if it runs out of power which led them to leave the place. Dr. Jenner tried very hard to stop them from leaving the place but Rick advises Jenner to let them go. Later the group leaves the city.

The Walking Dead Season 2

This season is a five-episodic one that aired between December 2013 and August 26, 2014. Clementine continues to make life more beautiful and best and gives a new meaning to painting in the first episode itself. In the episode, “A house divided” episode, Clementine gets new friends and enemies and as a result, finds her way into more survivors’ lives. 

In the third episode, it is shown that after meeting her friend Kenny after such a long time, Clementine is also a prisoner with an intention to prepare the successive generation of mankind for survival. In the fourth episode, Clementine is stuck to find her friends and also to keep them safe. In the final episode titled, “No Going Back”, Rebecca’s son takes birth, but the mother of the baby loses her life. Clementine makes a promise to protect the newest member of the group.

The Walking Dead Season 3

This was premiered between October 14, 2012, to March 31, 2013, comprising 16 episodes. In this season, Merle Dixon, who is the volatile older brother of Daryl, was missing in season one. In the first episode, it is shown that the world is getting more dangerous and Lori conceives, which leads Rick to locate a potentially safe haven. In the next episode, it is shown that a medical emergency leads to a traumatic life and Rick also discovers a threat to the new surroundings. 

In the “Walk with me” episode, Andrea and Michonne become the spectator of an accident that takes them to a new group of survivors. In the fourth episode, the lives of the entire group are in jeopardy, and on the other hand, Merle makes a request to the governor. In the fifth episode, Rick suffers another loss and Michonne gets suspicious about the governor who arranges a party for the people of Woodbury. 

In the “Hounded” episode, Andrea and the Governor grow closer and Michonne makes a decision about Woodbury. On the other side, Rick is grief-stRicken. There are episodes such as Made To Suffer, When The Dead Come Knocking, The Suicide King, Home, Clear,  I Ain’t A Judas, Prey, The Sorrowful Life, Welcome To The Tombs, and Arrow On The Doorpost. In the final episode, Welcome to the Tombs, Governor’s impending attacks loom. Andrea also tries to escape captivity.

The Walking Dead Season 4

This season marks the introduction of some new and notable characters. It premiered on October 13, 2013, and aired its final episode on March 30, 2014, with 16 episodes as a whole. In the first episode, it is shown how the group leads a peaceful life in prison and tries their best to hold humanity. But Rick meets a new survivor which gets him into another trouble. In the second episode, Rick leaves his lifestyle in order to protect their livelihood. 

In the third episode, it is shown that a group leaves the members of the prison to deal with the recent losses. In the “Indifference” episode, Daryl along with a little group set out to get the medicine, resulting in their mission to face obstacles. The “Internment” episode reveals that assorted enemies pressure Rick and the group. The survivors and the prison may reach a breaking point. In the sixth episode, the Governor wanders till he comes face to face with a family in need. There are other episodes such as Too Far Gone, Dead Weight, Inmates, After, Claimed, Alone, Still, The Grove, A and US.

The Walking Dead Season 5

The fifth installment of the Walking Dead series gives an impactful performance all over the world. In the first episode, the real motive of the terminals is highlighted when Rick and the others end up in a complex situation. The second episode showcases how Rick takes up a risky mission for a small reward when the supplies run low and the mistrust between people in the group develops. It is followed by episodes like Four Walls and A Roof, Slab Town, Self-Help, Crossed, Consumed, Coda, Them, What Happened and What’s Going On, Remember, The Distance, Forget, Try, Conquer and  Spend. In the last episode, Conquer, it is shown how Daryl finds it difficult on a run. Rick and the group get a feeling like outsiders in Alexandria when the problems appear at their gates.

The Walking Dead Season 6

It premiered on October 11, 2015, and continued till April 3, 2016, with a weightage of 16 episodes as a whole. Here some of the new and noble comic characters are included. In the first episode, it was seen that Rick and the other group have a difficult time assimilating into Alexandria. A new threat was also approaching which may bring the group closer. In the next episode, it is seen that a new problem crops up in Alexandrians. 

In the third episode i.e. Thank You, a small group along with Rick runs into hurdles, while trying to return to Alexandria. This season is followed by episodes like Here’s Not Here, Always Accountable, Now, Heads Up, No Way Out, Start To Finish, The Next World, Not Tomorrow Yet, Knots Untie, The Same Boat, East, Last Day On Earth and Twice As Far. In the last episode, Rick’s group ventures outside the walls, and their experiences change their lives forever.

The Walking Dead Season 7

Season 7 focuses on the oppressive group of survivors known as the “Saviors”, which is led by Negan. The first episode reveals that the group members remains helpless. In this episode. Negan is taking an action and resulting in forever haunting those natives who will survive. In the second episode, a newly well-made community that seems very good for a number of familiar faces. 

In the third episode, a new survivor’s group is to have it all in the community of their own but there is a price. In the fourth episode, the left group members try to keep it together in Alexandria and as a result also receive a sobering visit. In the Go-Getter episode i.e. the fifth episode, Despite coping with grief and enemies revolving around, the group also finds a safe place at the Hilltop before it’s late. 

Similarly, there are episodes like Sing Me A Song, Swear, Heart Still Beating, New Best Friends, Rock In The Road, Say Yes, Hostiles and Calamities, Bury Me Here, Something They Need, The First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life, and The Other Side. In the final episode, the stake continues to grow further as the paths cross and the group also goes for a different plan.

The Walking Dead Season 8 

This season of the Walking Dead premiered on 18th October 2017 and continued till April 15, 2018, comprising 16 episodes as a whole. Though it was a part of a blockbuster series yet garnered a mixed review from critics. It starts with Rick and his group fighting against Negan and the Saviors. King Ezekiel started a rebellion against the leaders of the Saviors and there is the beginning of a war for the freedom of the communities. In the first episode “mercy”, Rick, his group members along with the kingdom and the hilltop form an alliance together to fight against Negan and the Saviors. 

In the second episode, the plan involving Alexandrians, Kingdommers, and Hilltoppers unfolds. Rick continues to fight and he also sees a very known face. In the third episode, an argument with Saviors gives an unintended result for Hilltop, the Kingdom, and Alexandria. In some episodes, a new weapon is considered the biggest hurdle, as conflicts and fights grow between Rick’s forces and the Saviors. 

In the sixth episode, a serious argument takes place between Rick and the Savior as a result of which it becomes a matter of life and death. Similarly, it is followed by episodes such as Time For After, How It’s Gotta Be, Honor, Dead Or Alive, The Lost and The Plunderers, The Key, Still Gotta Mean Something, Do Not Send Us Astray, Wrath, and Worth. In the last episode, the communities start joining the forces to take a stand against the Saviors.

The Walking Dead Season 9 

The ninth season of this series premiered on October 7, 2018, and last aired on March 31, 2019, carrying 16 episodes as a whole showcasing the aftermath of war. In the first episode, Rick and his group take a risk to fly away to Washington in search of artifacts as they might need to make the civilization he and Carl envisioned. The Bridge is the second episode which shows the communities joining the forces to restore a bridge that will facilitate trade and communication. 

The third episode states how Rick’s vision for the future is at stake because of some mysterious disappearance that separates the work camp into parts where the communities build a bridge. In the fourth episode i.e. The Obliged episode, Rick’s thought of making a civilized future is threatened by a sinful past which is actually not forgivable. In the fifth episode, Rick is pushed to confront the past as he is facing problems to give safety to the community and protect that future that he saw with Carl. 

In the sixth episode, the encounter of the survivors with the Savior has been shown. There are also episodes like Stradivarius, Evolution, Adaptation, Omega, Bounty, Guardians, Chokepoint, Scars, The Calm Before, and The Storm. In the final episode, the aftermath of the loss was aired. The communities went through a blizzard as the group deals with an enemy and it makes a decision between life and death.

The Walking Dead Season 10

It is the penultimate season that focuses on the group’s preparation and war against the Whisperers. The first episode of season 10 is titled “Lines we cross” in which the group on oceanside continues to train in case the Whisperers return. Tensions are high as the heroes struggle to hold onto their concept of civilization. In the second episode, we are at the end of the world where a flashback reveals the origins of Alpha and Beta. It also focuses on how Alpha attempts to toughen up Lydia as they make themselves walk with the dead. The Whisperers created their herds. 

“Ghosts” is the third episode in which the threat of the Whisperers returns leads to paranoia sweeping over Alexandria. On the other hand, Carol battles with the need for revenge. In the fourth episode, the group deals with an unexpected safety problem. In the fifth episode, supplies are missing from the Hilltop. Negan is idolized by an Alexandrian and on the other hand, Ezekiel holds a secret. In the Bonds episode, Daryl and Carol go on a mission while Siddhiq struggles in solving a mystery.

Episode 7 is to open your eyes in which Carol makes Daryl feel uncomfortable by pushing boundaries. Tension occurs due to cross swords in Oceanside and on the hand Alexandrians go on over a mission in the eighth episode. The ninth episode explains how the group must find out how to move out of an uncertain situation. The group further protected Alexandria from a threatening force from the outer world. 

In the eleventh episode, it is shown how Whisperers came to Hilltop. The communities need to decide whether to run or fight and again Eugene’s communication with Stephanie gets complicated. It is again followed by episodes like The Tower, Look At The Flowers, A Certain Doom, Find Me,  Home Sweet Home, Splinter, One More, Diverged, Here’s Negan, and What We Become. In the final episode, Maggie returns to Alexandria. Carol takes Negan on a path where she can release her tension and Negan reflects on his late wife and those events that led him to the point. 

The Walking Dead Season 11

The last season number 11 of the Walking Dead series which aired on date 22 August in 2021, consists of total 24 episodes. This season is all about the group’s meeting with Commonwealth who have advanced tools and around 50,000 survivors residing in various settlements. There is also a confrontation between the Reapers and the group. The first episode is titled “Acheron: Part I” where Maggie oversees the team with Daryl, Alden, Gabriel, and Negan for scavenging Meridian. On the other hand, Princess Eugene, and others are examined by the Commonwealth’s auditor. They drop the idea to escape in order to save their brother whom they thought to be with community. 

Maggie’s group also got ambushed by the Walkers, and Daryl and the Dog are separated. Negan leaves her. Maggie somehow flees from those Walkers and also unites to the group in a subway car. Gage returns though it is heeded by the walker’s horde. Then, Maggie denies to rescue him, reuslt in Gage to impale himself. During the interrogation, Eugene informs Mercer about the Stephanie and also tells him that he is no more a member of any settlement which convinces Mercer. As a result, the group is allowed to complete the processing. 

The third episode, Hunted, mainly depicts the grudges between Maggie and Negan along the mission led by Maggie to separate the team and get hunted by Reapers. Rosita, Magna, Carol, and Kelly make attempts to catch horses for Alexandria. The fourth episode rendition states how Daryl and Dog are captured by Reapers and taken to the Meridian and reconnect with a known person from the past. “Out of the Ashes” showcases how Jerry, Aaron, and the group reach the Hilltop ruins for blacksmith tools and nearby games. Eugene and the group also attend the event at Commonwealth. Negan and Maggie travel through forests and on the other hand, Judith and the children clash with teenage boys.

The sixth episode I.e. on the inside shows how Virgil and Connie escape from a Walker and conceal themselves in a house that has been captured by mysterious creatures. Promises Broken- the seventh episode outlines how Maggie and Elijah learn a different kind of survival pattern from Negan. Yumiko goes for an upper-category job interview. Daryl comes to know the truth about Leah and the Reapers. Gabriel also encounters the man of God. The eighth episode shows how Reapers defend Meridian from a herd and Maggie is suspected of this attack. Alexandrians also scramble to save themselves when a huge storm affects them badly and shows them weak in front of the Walkers. 

The episodes are then followed by No Other Way, New Haunts, Rogue Elements, The Lucky Ones, Warlords, The Rotten Core, Trust, and Acts Of Gods i.e. till the sixteenth episodes all total. More than 8 episodes are yet to be aired on television. In the sixteenth episode, Maggie is ready to defend the Hilltop and Riverbend people from the wrath of Hornsby. The latter hires Leah to kill Maggie.
