Classroom Of The Elite Season 2 – When Is The Release Date?

Classroom of the Elite, a popular anime that only lasted one season, has announced its comeback after a four-year hiatus. And, although most anime fans have no problem waiting for months for the new season of their favorite program to air, there comes a point when hope and anticipation give way to skepticism and anxiety.

Despite the fact that Classroom of Elite was one of the finest anime series of 2017, no sequel has been confirmed. Fortunately, the second season of Classroom of the Elite has already been announced!

What is the Plot of Classroom of the Elite?

The show is a well-known high school drama anime that is created on the same-named light and manga novels. “Classroom of the Elite,” originally released as a light novel series by author Shogo Kinugasa, depicts the lives of a group of high school students in Japan’s highest-rated and recognized educational institution’s lowest-ranking class (via Anime News Network).

Kiyotaka Ayanokji, the protagonist, is a hidden genius, knowingly placing himself to the school’s minimal rank due to an unknown cause. Soon after enrolling, Kiyotaka realizes that the school’s academic achievements are based on sabotage rather than study, causing him to defend himself and his companions as they arise in the school’s ranks.

Classroom of the Elite Season 1 Recap

Kdo Ikusei High School is widely recognized as Japan’s best educational institution. It embodies Japanese excellence, with ultramodern facilities and cutting-edge technology, a 100% admission record to the Grandes Ecoles, and the guarantee of obtaining the desired vocation. In this establishment, points substitute money and allow you to buy anything you want (food, games, consoles, etc.).

Each student starts with 100,000 points worth a total of 100,000 yen. At first glance, Kdo Ikusei High School seems to be a real paradise; nevertheless, only the Elite of students get preferential treatment, while the rest are subject to tyranny. Indeed, the class receives a set number of points each month depending on its grades and behavior.

The total number of points, which qualifies as an S system, separates the courses into four categories, A, B, C, and D, with A being the best and D being the worst. Furthermore, during a written exam, any student who does not get a mark that is greater than or equal to half of the class average would be expelled. For “some” reason, Kiyotaka Ayanokji is claimed to have been “negligent” during his entrance exam. As a consequence, he is sent to class D, the lowest level of the whole institution, where all of the “lower” students have been put to taunt them. Kiyotaka Ayanokji decides to cooperate after meeting Suzune Horikita and Kiky Kushida, two females in his class, to improve the class’s grades, and therefore their points.

Classroom of the Elite Season 2: What To Expect

In the first season, Classroom of the Elite faithfully adapted the source manga. We can expect the same from the second season as well. However, given the number of volumes the manga has already published, we can confidently say that if the anime series stays true to the source material, we can see many seasons of the anime series in the future.

In the first season, there was no reason shown why Kiyotaka enrolled in the Elite school. We can maybe get a hint of this reason in the second season. Kiyotaka is still not at the top of his class and his father’s influence on his life in school is still untouched, so we can say that these topics could be explored in the second season as well.

The first season ended on a very vague and suspicious note, with Kiyotaka winning the school test and his father trying to get him expelled from the school. But we think that the reason his father wants him out of the school could be due to his reason to join the school in the first place. There is much to explore in season 2 and we are looking forward to it.

Classroom of the Elite: Light Novel

The anime series ‘The Classroom of The Elite,’ is also known as Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shij Shugi no Kyshitsue in Japan. This novel was one of the most famous light novels in Japan, owing to its rich and exciting storyline. This light book series was written by Shgo Kinugasa. And the book series is illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose. The Classroom of the Elite novel series has yet published 11 volumes of its book as of this February and we are looking at another year of Classroom of Elite manga with the 7th volume of the 2nd year still remaining in the works. Shgo Kinugasa has only published 6 volumes of the 2nd year of this manga series, so we are quite sure that the book has a long way to go.

Season 2 of The Elite’s Classroom will begin with light novel volume 4 and end with book 6. Volumes 1–3 were adapted for the anime Classroom of The Elite’s first season. For those of you who want to take up the manga from where the first season left off, Classroom of The Elite light book volume 4 in English is a great place to start.

Classroom of the Elite Trailer

Now that we’ve given you all the information on Season 2 of Classroom of the Elite, you’ve probably concluded that it’s still too early for a proper trailer for the next season, which means there isn’t one right now. The season was just recently announced, and we don’t know anything about its present status of production, so we’ll just have to wait for a release window for the second season to have a more definitive release date for the trailer. Classroom of the Elite will return very soon, as previously said, but a trailer is now too early in the production process. The whole series has been a huge success, so it’s no surprise that it’s been renewed for a second season. Still, we don’t have any official information on when the second season will be released, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the trailer.

The only thing we have is an official artwork by Shunsaku Tomose, the original artist of the light novel series.

Classroom of the Elite Release Date

Initially, Funimation aired the first season of Classroom of the Elite alongside the original Japanese version of the show. While we don’t have confirmation, there’s nothing to suggest that Funimation will no longer simulcast Classroom of the Elite, or that you won’t be able to watch the dubbed version alongside the original Japanese version.

Season 2 of Classroom of the Elite has been confirmed, although no official release date has been determined. Season 2’s release date, on the other hand, is set to be announced on March 6.

Even if most of us did not have great expectations that this series would be renewed for a second season, we are not shocked. Classroom of the Elite is presently one of the best-selling light novels in Japan. So, a second season would be the most obvious thing.

Where Can You Watch The Anime?

Classroom of the Elite is available to watch on Crunchyroll and Funimation with English Dubbing. It is also available on Netflix as of February 2022. However, you never know when Netflix decides to remove it. Season 2 will most probably be released on Funimation first as the subbing and/ or dubbing is done by Funimation. However, it will be picked by Netflix sooner or later.

Concluding Thoughts And Review Of The Anime

Classroom of the Elite, based on a well-known light novel series of the same name, enables us to answer one of the most important issues that most teenagers have when they begin high school. All human beings are treated equally in society, as shown by our admission to a prestigious high school with a proven track record of generating great students for society. The first episode has the potential to have a long-term impact on viewers.

As always, fans seem pretty divided on the philosophy presented in the anime. “Are human beings equal?” seems to be the first question asked. Some may find it too weak or vapid, however, it could depend upon the anime or the show to define the question and make it either profound or overrated. Since there is only one season of the anime yet released, we should restrain from giving final judgments yet.

On the other hand, having people you can root for and engage in is counterproductive to the tale Elite Classroom is attempting to portray. The first season has given us a multitude of characters that are students and what can you expect from high school students who are given everything they can desire, from toys to clothes to gaming consoles and whatnot. However, the background of the characters does not seem to gel well with the plot, thus disappointing many of the viewers. But, the animation takes the cake with lots of eye-pleasing colors and designs. All in all, even with somewhat of a weak start, we are still looking forward to the second season, even if it proves us wrong about the show.
