“It was a such heart breaker story that turned out in a greater Hope. The analogy about the care of the mistreated animals with the Justice Life story digged deep in your bones leaving us with sour feeling of some sadness because of the horror that surrounds it and at the same time gave us Faith, Hope and this feeling of Happiness when you could see that will be always second chances and hope when you recognize that still people in this world who want to make a difference. Thank you Amanda Mickey for such wonderful breathtaking story. And hot as hell as well, uff. The book Rocks big time.”

“A beautiful read. Great story line. I'm extremely partial to angels and demons and winged heroes. This book ticked all my boxes. Great job Amanda. I would recommend this book to any paranormal romance lover. ”

“Lillian and her dad Tom with the help of Nate and Daniel run The Sanctuary a haven for abused Tigers, Lions and Elephants. Being an animal lover myself, especially cats this was a major draw card for me and I'm thrilled I got to read this! Life as Lillian knows it is good but their biggest rescue is yet to come. Tom knows how broken Lillian was when she arrived and he could see the healing she has done. He had discussed it with her to run a program for troubled youth but gave up when he heard nothing from authorities. The sheriff caught wind of his proposal and approached him, Justice is to be their first guest ...... Justice and Lillian are both powerhouses on their own and strong stubborn personalities but both of them bare scars and wounds from life, some deeper than others. They've found their match in each other. The moment they meet each other sparks flies and their chemistry is alive and so is the battle of wills..... It's this battle of wills that brings on the healing. Make no mistake it's not an easy journey but it's beautiful.Justice and Lillian not only saved each other physically but emotionally as well. There were moments when I thought my heart would stop, moments where it shattered and I thought it would never mend. There were also moments where I wanted to inflict hellish pain on those evil beings that abused their power and crushed tiny hearts, souls and bodies. There is a special place in hell for scum like them! Pain was an amazing five-star introduction to the work of Amanda Mackey . It was a beautiful journey of healing , forgiveness, courage and new beginnings.”

“Pain, by Amanda Mackey, describes a tortured soul's road to recovery. The setting is the Sanctuary, an animal preserve operated by Lil and her father. A paroled convict named Justice, who's led a life of unthinkable horrors, comes to the Sanctuary to start live over, and learns valuable lessons about life - and himself. Each protagonist's story is told in first person, giving the reader an intimate view of the character. Full of surprises and highly recommended.”
