“I just finished reading Book 3 Perceive of the Katon University Series. I really had fun reading it. I enjoyed it because there is action and romance and magic but it is clean enough for my children to read as well! I am grateful for authors like Andrea Pearson who write exciting fun stories for all ages. I am looking forward to reading Book 4”

“I first found this author after reading her other series, The Key of Kilenya (which I still love reading occasionally!). Once I learned she had this series also I was excited to read them! I have to say I was not disappointed. I am not one for teen fantasy/supernatural books but something about them made me want to read more. They had a great storyline that I could really connect with the character and really get into the book more so than other similar books in this genre, even though I have to say, there are not many that stack up against this authors work. I love Nicole's story and everything that happens in these books - the thrills and excitement, learning about different and new creatures and trying to imagine what they look like, the love story and friendships makes for just an awesome read! I can't wait to see what this author has in store for Nicole in the future! ”

“Andrea has written another winner! Discern is the first book in a new series about Nicole, a talented young college student with all the struggles of other students plus the added struggle of learning to use magic. I was privileged to read the book prior to its publication and wasn't sure it would be my cup of tea but it was awesome! The story drew me in and kept me reading until the end. I think I put the book down only once or twice - and the published book is even better. I look forward to the next book in the series but if you liked this one, don't miss the novellas about the same characters - The Focus, The Manor, and The Angel. I would recommend ALL of Andrea's books to anyone even though her target audience is teens and preteens. ”

“This paranormal YA book delves into the lives of fourths—fourth born children who have magical qualities. After high school, they go to one of the magical universities around the country to learn more about how to harness and use their magical abilities (based upon their hair color). Nicole goes to Katon University in Seattle, but feels anxious because her abilities have yet to manifest themselves yet. Still, with hard work and determination, she makes the cut for a special team to go to Arches National Park to check out some weird disappearances and phenomenon there. This story was fun and easy to get into as Nicole meets Austin, who she is attracted to, even though he’s brusque and standoffish with her. The adventures that await them in Utah are intriguing…and dangerous. Their trip turns into a deadly nightmare as mythical creatures turn up and Nicole, her professor and her teammates must use their magical powers or die. Great writing. Intense action and suspense, and great creativity. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.”

“Absolutely amazing, I could not put this book down! From the very beginning you are shrouded in mystery, learning alongside the main character, Nicole, as she not only discovers new things about the world around her but new things about herself as well. Each character is written so well there are instant feelings of either love or hate that do not pass with time. With twists and turns and the occasional creepy crawly you never know what is going to come around the next page turn. A very well written book full of suspense, mystery, intrigue, magic and love. Andrea Pearson emerges you into this world of wonderment and makes it so you never want to leave. I cannot wait for the next installment! ”

“Good, with a delightfully creepy twist. Very fun read with an engaging storyline.”

“Poor Nicole, she finds family...but it comes with a great price. Fast paced but very sad in places. Hard to put down once you start reading. ...and like all great series.....leaves you screaming for the next installment now”

“Wonderful series. Having all the books together keeps the continuity of the story flowing. The characters are well rounded and interesting. You find yourself experiencing their emotions as though you were there and rooting for them to succeed. These are people I would like to have as my friends. The story grabs you and will not let go - you have to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more about the main characters as I understand they are also in the upcoming series 'Mosaic'.”

“This is the first time I read anything by this author, and wow! I received the first book and joined the author's news letter for an honest review. I loved this series, the romance and intrigue throughout the series, likable characters that you can relate to. this may have been my first read from this author but she's definitely close to the top, can't wait to read something else by her. I recommend this series to anyone who needs a bit of magic in their lives, and I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I did. ”
