Sue Lilley

Sue Lilley lives in the north east of England, when she isn’t escaping somewhere else in her imagination.  She loves a good story, especially feel-good escapism that makes you miss your stop and be late for work because you can’t put it down.  Her practical exterior hides the soul of a daydreamer and compulsive people watcher.  She has been writing as a hobby for years, eavesdropping on people’s conversations on the Metro for inspiration.

She’s been married to Michael, an artist and fellow creative spirit, for more years than they’re brave enough to count.  They have one grown-up daughter who’s far more sensible than either of them. ANOTHER SUMMER was Sue's first published novel. Her latest, HIGH HOPES is also available on Amazon. Now she's forced herself out of the closet, there will be other novels coming soon.

“I really, really loved this story. I'm a sucker for a heartwarming long-lost baby reunion story, and this one was one of the best I've read, combined with a beautiful love story as an added bonus. I'm never sure what I'm going to find when I try out a new indie author, but this author was one of the more talented ones I've encountered. I am happy to recommend this book, and I will be looking out for other works by Ms. Lilley. ”

“Another Summer is a sexy fast-paced romance from a debut author. It’s about Evie and Joe who got married too young and have to decide if their marriage is worth saving. I cared about all the characters, who are realistic, rather than perfect role models. And I liked the way all the loose ends were tied up at the end. The story is set in a picturesque region of the UK. The style of writing is very visual and the emotional dilemmas kept me turning the pages. ”

“This is one of the most real books I have ever read. The characters could have been someone you know. It was also interesting how the characters were written to have flaws, especially Joe, it was very well done and added a lot to the storyline. Things break down when Evie calls her husbands work looking for him and finds out that he hasn't worked there for the last three weeks and didn't tell her. Joe comes home and finds a note saying Evie has gone across the country to her family's cottage. She then meets Jake and the triangle begins. I can honestly say I was surprised by who Evie picked at the end of this book, which was nice that it wasn't predictable. Another Summer was not your classic romance, though it did have some steamy scenes- I enjoyed it immensely. ”

“It's hard not to enjoy a romance, at least for me, but that becomes even harder when the novel is good, such as this one. 'Another Summer' takes the mid-life crisis that many couples go through and converts it into a nice reading. Facing a doomed marriage, Evie and Joe's lives seem to take different paths but the story becomes intense when Joe realizes that he loves his wife and wants her back. A fast paced, intense and sexy romance novel that is well written and well structured, making it a really enjoyable read, great for the warm summer nights. ”

“Wow. This book was one that will stick with me for a while. Right from the beginning the action and emotion are all over the page, and left me needing more. I raced through this book, only taking a break to sleep or sadly go to work. It was just a page turner in every sense of the word. I thought I knew the story from reading the description, but I was wrong. So many times along the way I was shocked at the turn of the story and how it left me reeling. I honestly almost didn't read this book, only getting it on a whim. But, I am so glad I read it and will be looking forward to reading more from this author for sure! Anyone who enjoys emotional reads, romance, and twists to keep things exciting and fresh will LOVE this book! ”
