“Lex and Lu has everything I love in a good story: romance, mystery, sports, and relationships, which means that once I started it, I couldn't put it down until I finished. Unfortunately for me, I made the mistake of starting early evening -- and was up all night so that I could find out what happens. Santiago's characters are believable -- I actually felt like I knew them! This is a great book to take to the beach or to spend a rainy afternoon curled up on the couch. ”

“Lex and Lu is a book that will take you on a journey full of laughter, love, heartache and hope. The cast of characters are all dynamic in their own way and the story line inadvertently challenges the reader to take an inventory of their own personal journey in life. J. Santiago entices you with vivid imagery, engaging wit, and tugs at your heart strings with a love story that has you constantly fighting for the main characters to overcome personal challenges to find themselves and each other throughout the story. There was never a dull moment in this book and I liked it so much, I read it twice! Do yourself a favor and buy this book today! Great read! ”

“I love that the ending was not typical of a romance but more realistic to the characters. You will enjoy.”

“I was captivated by the characters in this book. I have never cheered so fiercely for love to champion heartache and fear like I have rooted for the main characters in Five-Star. Every plot twist had me speaking aloud to the characters in the novel like they were my personal friends sitting in the room with me. To say the ending was unexpected is an understatement. OMG...I can't wait for the sequel”

“Amazing book that makes you really feel like you're apart of the romance. The author does a great job making the characters have fascinating layers that want to you read more.”

“This novel was a great read. I found myself lost in it every time I picked it up.”

“I am not sure why this book does not get more reviews. I really enjoyed the characters. Lex is a world renowned soccer player, and Lu is his childhood friend, who has a Ph.D. in psychology. They were lovers when teenagers and the book begins after they have been estranged for 8 years. SPOILER ALERT MAYBE. Without giving too much away, this book is a second chance romance with a major reveal, which is clear right in the beginning. Most of the book is about how the two characters deal with the truth once revealed, and with each other. The other characters in the book are also intriguing and lend flavor to the book. I really liked the chemistry between these two, and I especially liked how Lex was actually an easy going guy, not the super angsty, dark, hero that these YA novels like to overdose on. Lu is not as well developed, she is definitely more shadowy. I think this book should have been longer, or it needs a prequel and a sequel. I would like to know more about their childhood romance. I would also like to know how things evolve. For once, I wish there had been a cliffhanger so I could read more about these two. ”
