Kaylin McFarren
Biography

Linda Yoshida’s life has been filled with opportunities, experiences and uphill challenges. She majored in business administration and the literary arts while attending college in Seattle. Her career choices over the years have ranged from fashion model, interior designer and legal secretary to product development technician and office manager within the Yoshida Group – sixteen diverse family-owned companies which include Yoshida’s Sauces, Crater Lake Sodas, Oregon Property Management, Grand Lodge Resort and the Riverview Restaurant…to name a few.
Linda has been actively involved in both business and personal writing projects for many years. As the director of a fine art gallery, she assisted in furthering the careers of numerous visual artists who under her guidance gained recognition through promotional opportunities and in national publications. Eager to spread her own creative wings, she tapped into her Irish roots – assuming the pseudo name Kaylin McFarren, and steered her energies toward writing novels. As a result, she has earned more than a dozen literary awards and was a 2008 finalist in the prestigious RWA® Golden Heart contest.
In her free time, Linda gives back to her community through participation and support of various charitable and educational organizations in the Pacific Northwest. She and her husband formed a non-profit – the Soulful Giving Foundation – which raises funds for cancer research during a large annual summer event held at her family estate in southeast Portland, Oregon. Her dedication to causes originated after her eldest daughter’s childhood illness and losing her beloved father and close friends and business associates to cancer.
